I love how Kathleen tied the first story about him living next to a chopped down tree into this flashback story. And I love that it’s a Christmas story! I remember one year my family and I cut down a cedar tree for our Christmas tree. It looked funny but it was all we could afford – and you know what? That made it the most memorable Christmas ever!
